Luthier Javier Mengual conceived this guitar as one of his greatest achievements: an instrument born from the desire to meet all the requests that professional guitarists have conveyed to him throughout his long career.

These requests culminate in a guitar with a sweet, melodic, yet powerful sound—an instrument that is balanced and featherlight, extremely comfortable to play, and crafted from the finest woods of traditional Spanish luthiery: Indian Rosewood and African Ebony.

The Deseada is a tribute to his wife, a homage to a lifetime of work and sharing, and a dedication to the professional guitarist seeking the authentic sounds of Spanish tradition. Javier's passion for construction excellence merges in this guitar with the collaboration and synergy of professor, composer, and great interpreter of the guitar, Joaquín Clerch. In the notes of each instrument, one can sense the harmony resulting from the constant work of these two great masters of Spanish guitar.
